Dr. Murray is dean and alumnus of Saint Louis University School of Nursing.  Saint Louis University is a Jesuit, Catholic university ranked among the top research institutions in the nation.  The School has a national reputation for its pioneering, innovative, and comprehensive programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels of education.

With a Missouri gubernatorial appointment, Dr. Murray served on the Missouri State Board of Nursing for more than eight years, four of which she served as president.  As state board of nursing president, she served as the Missouri Delegate to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.  She is activel involved in governmental affairs at the state and national levels and has skillfully used regulatory, public, and legislative policy to promote and lead innovation in nursing education.  Her visionary and groundbreaking work on modifying regulatory structures facilitates innovation between education and service partners throughout the U.S.  Dr. Murray is the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including fellowship in the American Academy of Nursing, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellows, and the Salute to Excellence Healthcare Award for Stellar Performance.  She has several publications, presents nationally, and has received significant external funding.
