Darcy is the Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Associate Administrator at Harborview Medical Center (HMC), University of Washington Medicine in Seattle. She is also adjunct Clinical Faculty at the University of Washington School of Nursing. HMC is the only Level 1 Adult and Pediatric Trauma/Burn Center for Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho (WAMI) and serves as the safety net provider for King County. She has been at HMC for over twenty years in multiple leadership positions including Administrator for Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Science and Rehabilitation Medicine. In addition to nursing practice throughout HMC, her operational responsibilities include Critical Care, Acute Care, Rehabilitation Medicine, Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Science, Neurosciences, Cardiology, The Burn Center, Pediatrics, Respiratory Care, Sleep Medicine and the outpatient procedural areas.  She also serves as the UW Medicine Enterprise Co-Chair for service initiatives dedicated to improving the experience of all patients and those who care about them. In partnership with the UW School of Medicine Chair of the Department of Psychiatry she co-chairs the UW Medicine Enterprise Behavioral Health Strategic Planning Committee which has resulted in the system-wide implementation of evidence-based integration of primary care and behavioral health, providing consultation and assistance to the WAMI area including to the Wyoming Department of Health to reform their mental health policies related to individuals with developmental delays and mental illness. Her current appointments include the Washinton Governor and King County Executive Task Force on Community Alternatives to Psychiatric Boarding, the Washington State Speaker of the House Mental Health Task Force, Washington State Hospital Association Mental Health Task Force, King County Mental Illness and Drug Dependency Oversight Committee, King County Health Reform and Planning Committee, Advisory Board for the University of Washington School of Nursing Bothell Campus, Advisory Board for the University of Washington School of Nursing Seattle Campus, University Health System Consortium (UHC) Chief Nursing Officer Steering Committee and the UHC Behavioral Health Advisory Committee. Her past service includes the Governing Board for Fairfax Psychiatric Hospital, President of the King County Community Mental Health Association and Governing Board of Rosehedge AIDS Housing and Healthcare. She has provided technical and expert service on mental health outcomes and models of care for national agencies such as the National Quality Forum, Medicare Payment Advisory Commission and the Institute for Behavioral Healthcare. She is a certified member of the Just Culture Community. Darcy is board certified by the ANCC as both a Nurse Executive and a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatry and Mental Health Nursing. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She received the Washington State Nurse Leader of the Year Award from the March of Dimes in 2014. She earned her undergraduate and master’s degree at the University of Washington School of Nursing.
