Chief Nursing Officer, Senior Associate Administrator

Darcy is the Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Associate Administrator at Harborview Medical Center (HMC), University of Washington Medicine in Seattle. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Nurse Fellow and a Fellow of the Academy of Health Care Executives. She is Board Certified by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center as both a Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Nurse Executive. HMC is an academic medical center that serves as the Level 1 trauma center for Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho and the safety net for King County. She is adjunct Clinical Faculty at the University of Washington School of Nursing. She has been at HMC for over twenty years in multiple leadership positions including Administrator for Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Sciences and Rehabilitation Medicine. In addition to nursing practice throughout HMC her operational responsibilities include Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Science, Critical Care, Acute Care, Rehabilitation Medicine, Neurosciences, Cardiology, The Burn Center, Pediatrics, Respiratory Care, Sleep Medicine, Care Management and the outpatient procedural areas. She also serves as the UW Medicine Co-Chair for services initiatives dedicated to improving the experience of all patients and those who care about them. In partnership with the UW School of Medicine Chair of the Department of Psychiatry she co-chairs the UW Medicine Behavioral Health Strategic Planning Committee which has resulted in the system-wide implementation of bi-directional evidence-based integration of primary care and behavioral health. Her current appointments include, faculty for The Institute for Behavioral Healthcare Improvement, The Washington State Speaker of the House Mental Health Task Force, the King County Mental Illness and Drug Dependency Oversight Committee, the Vice-Chair of the Vizient/University Health System Consortium (UHC) Chief Nursing Officer, the Vizient/UHC Behavioral Health Advisory Board. Her past service includes the Governing Board for Fairfax Psychiatric Hospital, Rosehedge AIDS Housing and Healthcare Board of Directors and the President of the King County Community Mental Health Association.
