Lisa O’Connor B.S.N., M.S., R.N., N.E.A.-B.C., 2009 Cohort
Vice President of Nursing at Boston Medical Center (BMC). Ms. O'Connor is a member of the senior management team at BMC, an over $1 billion corporation. BMC is a 500 bed academic medical center that serves as the largest safety net hospital in Massachusetts. BMC is a level 1 trauma center serving the urban community of Boston and providing tertiary services to all of Massachusetts. Ms. O'Connor has responsibility for over 2200 FTE's and an operational budget of over $200 million. In her role as Vice President for Nursing, she has oversight of all nursing services, the Emergency Departments, Operating Rooms, Cath and EP labs, Inpatient Acute Rehab, Care Management, Social Work, Admitting, Bed Control, Transport, Respiratory Therapy, Disaster Preparedness and all of the Rehabilitation Therapies. BMC has one of the most diverse nursing workforces in Boston. Ms. O'Connor has been a member of Sigma Theta Tau for over 20 years and is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives. She also sits on the Nominating and Program Committees of the Massachusetts Organization of Nurse Executives. Ms. O'Connor is passionate about the mentoring of nurse leaders and has a particular interest in hospital operations.
