Barbara Wolfe Ph.D., A.P.R.N., F.A.A.N., 2009 Cohort
Professor and Associate Dean for Research at the William F. Connell School of Nursing at Boston College. Additionally, Dr. Wolfe holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Her clinical expertise is in the care of women with eating disorders and her research, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, focuses on the relationship between biological correlates of clinical symptoms and the implications for intervention and relapse prevention in this population. Dr. Wolfe currently chairs the Nursing Science: Adult and Older Adults Study Section at the National Institutes of Health. She is a member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (serving as President from 2003–2004), the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society for Nursing, and the Eating Disorders Research Society. She is a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing. Dr. Wolfe currently serves as a member of the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM) interdisciplinary Eating Disorders Workgroup and as a member of the NAMI (formerly known as the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) Scientific Advisory Committee.
