Rhonda Richtsmeier M.N., B.S.N., R.N., N.E.A.-B.C., 2008 Cohort
Chief of Public Health Nursing, Alaska Department of Health & Social Services, Division of Public Health in Juneau, Alaska. Ms. Richtsmeier is responsible for the leadership and supervision of more than 200 staff working out of 25 facilities to provide public health nursing services in more than 250 communities and villages throughout Alaska. She is responsible for the professional practice of public health nursing at the state and local levels, and for planning and directing policy and operational functions in a complex geographically dispersed system that serves populations with significant health disparities. Ms. Richtsmeier represents the state health department in all matters related to nursing and currently serves on the Executive Board of the Association of State and Territorial Directors of Nursing, and the University of Alaska Nursing Education Advisory Committee. Memberships include: American Public Health Association, Alaska Public Health Association, American Nurses Association, Alaska Nurses Association, and National Association of City and County Health Officials. She was a 2006 National Public Health Leadership Institute Scholar.
