Lois Skillings M.S., R.N., N.E.A.-B.C., 2008 Cohort
Vice President of Nursing and Patient Care Services at Mid Coast Hospital, a community, not-for-profit hospital in Brunswick, Maine. Ms. Skillings provides nursing leadership for an integrated network of health care services and patient safety and quality. She has served as past president of Organization of Maine Nursing Executives (OMNE), chairperson for the Professional Practice Committee and chairperson for Annual Maine Nursing Summit Planning Committee. In 2007, she led an effort to launch the Maine Magnet Networking Collaborative, bringing together nurses to share experience and expertise on the Magnet journey. Since 2002, she has been the principal faculty for a Beginning Nursing Leadership and Management class for the University of Southern Maine Center for Continuing Education. She is the nursing leader for the RWJF Aligning Forces for Quality initiative in Maine and on the editorial board for Nursing Administration Quarterly. Awards include OMNE: Leadership Achievement Award (1999) and Sigma Theta Tau, Kappa Zeta Chapter, Excellence in Nursing Leadership Award (2002).
