Vice President Patient Services/CNO, St. Mary's Hospital & Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado; an affiliate of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. In his role as CNO, Mr. Spicer is responsible for all aspects of patient care. St. Mary's, with 354 beds, serves as the regional medical and trauma center for western Colorado and eastern Utah. Mr. Spicer joined St. Mary's in 1999 as Director of Emergency Services and served in that capacity until 2000 when he assumed the role of Administrative Director of Patient Services. In 2003 he was promoted to his current position as Vice President and CNO. Mr. Spicer is active in a number of professional organizations and boards at the local, state and national levels including the Colorado Center for Nursing Excellence, the Colorado Organization of Nurse Leaders (CONL), and the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). In 2006, he was nominated for the Colorado Nightingale Award and was the recipient of the CONL "Circle of Excellence" award in 2007.
