Dr. O'Toole's scholarly interests are anchored by education. She currently serves as the editor of the Mosby's Series of Dictionaries for Medicine, Nursing and Health Professions. She has presented her work in numerous national and international forums. Most recently, she served as the Principal Investigator for a grant from the Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE-Atlantis). The program, jointly administered and funded by the U.S. Department of Education and the European Commission's Directorate General for Education and Culture, was designed to add a European Community-United States dimension to international curriculum development and related student exchange for undergraduate students in nursing.
