Dean of the College of Nursing at Roseman University of Health Sciences, a private, non-profit educational institution specializing in the health professions in Henderson, Nevada. Dr. Smith is responsible for institutional advancement, academic affairs and leadership of the College of Nursing. Under her leadership enrollment in the nursing program has increased 300 percent and received initial accreditation in March 2008 by the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission, Inc., Dr. Smith has practiced medical malpractice, personal injury, domestic relations, licensure protection and criminal law; published and presented in numerous arenas on legal and bioethical issues in nursing/health care and authored the book, The Legal, Ethical and Professional Dimensions of Nursing Education. She serves on the Education Advisory Committee of the Nevada State Board of Nursing, the Southern Nevada Medical Industry Coalition and is a member of the Nevada Organization of Nurse Leaders. She was honored by the National Association of Women Business Owners as a Woman of Distinction (2008) and was named a Healthcare Headliner by In Business Las Vegas (2008).
