Debbie Pendergast has a wealth of healthcare experience spanning over 30 years with over 20 years at the senior management level. Currently she is the Sr. VP of Patient/Care Services/CNO of John Muir Medical Center Walnut Creek. John Muir Hospital, Walnut Creek is a 572 bed Magnet facility. Previously Debbie served as Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Executive at Phoenix Children's Hospital in Arizona’s. This facility provides world-class care in more than 40 pediatric specialties. In this role, Debra participated in the design, review and equipment acquisition for a $580 million new tower expansion increasing capacity from 365 to over 600 beds.
Prior to that, she served as the first Chair (CNO), Division of Nursing Services for over 13 years at Mayo Clinic Arizona where she was part of the start up team charged with building the first Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Other past experience includes: Director for Patient Care Services at Scottsdale Memorial Hospital, Assistant Chief Nurse at Northern Arizona VA Health Care System and Retired Commander in the Naval Reserve Nurse Corps where she served 20 years. Debra received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Hampton University in Virginia and her Master of Science in Nursing Administration from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh. Debbie is a Wharton Management Fellow and a Robert Wood Johnson, Senior Nurse Executive Alumni.
